The following are written comments about the seminar
(on file):

The seminar was/is absolutely necessary for improving grant writing skills.
This is the second time I have attended this workshop. Today’s session was thoroughly updated for the new NIH format, making it a particularly timely and useful course. [The presenter] is an outstanding speaker who somehow manages to make the day fly by. The accompanying workbook is an extremely valuable resource. I would highly recommend this course to postdocs, junior faculty and senior faculty alike. This workshop is probably the most useful day I’ve spent at Duke in terms of developing my research career.
Great content and presentation.
Handouts were very well organized and easy to follow. [The presenter] has great speaking style which held my attention throughout the day. This presentation definitely "filled some holes" in my understanding of good grantsmanship. Well done. Thank you.
Great knowledge for established and rising clinicians, clinician researchers and non-clinical researcher. Well organized and up to date to match current NIH standards. Should be part of all basic medical education (MD, PT, etc).
I appreciate the examples in the workbook regarding progress report/response to previous review and the Bio-sketches. I really, really learned a lot and found the information to be very relevant and focused. Thank you!
Absolutely fantastic seminar!!
Very informative, easy to follow, especially for someone with no knowledge of the grant writing process. He does an excellent job at engaging the audience.
I’ve had tremendous success adopting to [the presenter’s] style of grant writing. Makes grant writing much less daunting.
This was an excellent use of my academic day. I would attend this seminar every year if given the opportunity.
Fantastic course. Thank you most sincerely. This should be mandatory attendance for all new Duke Faculty who are interested in research.
I purchased the workbook last winter at the recommendation of a colleague. I feel that this approach helped me to achieve a fundable R01 proposal on my first attempt.
The best preparative course for grant writing that I have had, including formal course at other institutions.
This was a great opportunity to learn grant writing. It was very detailed and very helpful. I am very happy with the speaker’s presentation.
