•
It was great to have heard about grant writing from an experienced, tell-it-as-it-is person, with the experience to back up what he says. It was a perfect mix of overview, specific instructions and valuable insider tips. It was also VERY helpful that he had an actual process that he could teach us (about writing a grant) that can be generalized to any proposal system.
•
Presenter was fantastic, eloquent, informed, and most importantly was able to strongly motivate the audience on the topic (i.e., get us to start writing grants ourselves).
•
This workshop was really worth it. [The presenter] takes you step by step through the entire process, and anything he doesn't have time to cover is present in the handouts. Really fantastic.
•
Best training I have attended at NIH in 25 years! Thank you.
•
Excellent and very much needed in the postdoctoral community. Thank you.
•
The speaker was outstanding. His advice was invaluable. I'm so glad I took the time to attend this seminar.
•
I really liked the presenter a lot. He was friendly, helpful, funny, a great presenter who stuck to the schedule and used the handout materials well with the slides. He was overall just outstanding
•
It was a great opportunity for me to learn not only grant writing, but also what surviving in academic field is. Thank you so much.
•
I felt every point he made was clear and extremely important. I am currently working on an application, and it was extremely helpful as he made his presentation applicable to any field of study. Many of my fellow trainees wanted to attend as well and I think they must! Thank you for a wonderful workshop.
•
Very useful. Good handout material too. Thanks for the efforts.
•
[The speaker] was very well presented and knew a lot about the funding process. As an NIH postdoc fellow, we don't get much experience with writing grants as we would in a University type environment. This was a very good workshop to get you familiar with the process, the writing style required and what is needed for the individual to aim for success.
•
Excellent. The speaker was fabulous. Please have more of these sorts of workshops.
•
The speaker was dynamic and knowledgeable .

Testimonials

“[The presenter] had a powerful, yet friendly presentation style that is not only hugely informative, but also reassuring that obtaining funding is feasible. His willingness to answer questions at the end of the session on broader topics than just grant writing was a pleasant and appreciated boon to the seminar.”

“One of the most dynamic and informative seminars I've attended at NIH. Hopefully there can be an increase in similar seminars in the future to accommodate all those who wish to attend. I would highly recommend this seminar to all.”

“This has been fabulous! It's definitely been worth the time. The timing has been good for me, too, as I'm just now writing my full PhD proposal. I will be editing it this weekend with [the presenter's] tips and recommendations in mind!”
