I am writing to say how valuable I feel the Graduate School Fellows Program has been so far for me, and that I am very happy that you have provided this opportunity for the faculty on this campus. I hope that you will be able to continue supporting this program so that all the people on campus who are writing proposals get the opportunity to go through this process. This workshop and process have completely changed the way that I think about writing proposals. As an example, one of my co PIs (who has written and been funded for many proposals previously) feels that participating in this process has completely affected her approach to writing proposals as well. Additionally, it will affect how I interact, mentor and teach my students. I plan to use some of these ideas with my graduate students and post docs, having them write mini- proposals for the work they are performing, using some of the guidelines provided by this approach.
